POCO X3 has been launched in a number of countries soon, and now, a new report by Chinese tech portal MyDrivers has suggested that it is a rebranded version of yet another upcoming mid-range smartphone from fellow Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi. The report suggests that the POCO X3 is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 10, which is in the works and may be launched in the coming weeks. The information comes after the launch of the POCO X3 in multiple markets including India, following which it was reported that the Xiaomi group may simply rebrand the POCO X3 as the Redmi Note 10, and launch it as the latter in select markets.
It is not unusual for brands to rebrand certain devices and launch them under a different sub-brand for specific markets. Doing so helps brands create a sub-brand specific identity in certain nations, and Xiaomi appears to be following this strategy as well. That said, while POCO is a relatively new brand, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note lineup has been wildly popular in markets including India, and the upcoming Redmi Note 10 is also expected to retain similar popularity. it is important to note, however, that the Redmi Note 10 is expected to feature 5G connectivity, which the POCO X3 does not come with. As a result, while the two devices may be rebranded versions of each other, they will likely come with certain differences in specifications.
