The X5 5G was rumoured to launch as a rebadged Redmi Note 12 5G in select markets. However, the processor is different compared to what the Indian variant packs. The X5 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is likely a rebadged Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition from China. Let’s take a look at the POCO X5 5G series specifications, features and other details revealed ahead of the launch.
POCO X5 5G, X5 Pro 5G Specifications Leaked
The POCO X5 5G will be a new mid-range smartphone launching in Europe. The device will feature a flat frame design made of plastic. As per the leaked image shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, the X5 5G will launch in three colours — Blue, Green and Yellow.
The device will have a triple-camera setup on the back. The camera sensor placement is similar to the Note 12 5G in India. However, much like some older POCO phones, the X5 5G has a black paint job around the camera module to make it look like an island. There is the POCO branding on the right side of the module.
The device has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is flat. It has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The display will also offer 1200 nits of brightness along with a 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut. Under the hood, the phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. It is paired with an Adreno 619 GPU. The device is also said to pack a 5000mAh battery under the hood, which is now a standard spec in the price range. It supports 33W fast charging out of the box.
The rear camera setup has a 48MP main camera sensor. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, the phone has a 13MP front camera sensor.
We can expect the X5 5G to boot Android 12 out of the box since the Note 12 5G also has the same version. The device is likely to have MIUI 13 on top of Android.
The X5 Pro 5G has the same display and battery size as the vanilla model. It gets a faster Snapdragon 778G SoC and support for 67W fast charging out of the box. The phone also has a triple-camera setup on the back. There is a 108MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, the device will come with a 16MP front camera.
