Last week, a new report claimed that OnePlus is working on a budget phone, with the codename Clover. As per the Android Central report, the smartphone will be priced at around $200 mark which translates to about Rs 15,000. Now, we have spotted the upcoming OnePlus Clover on the Geekbench 5 database revealing some key specifications of the device.
OnePlus Clover with Snapdragon 460 SoC, 4GB RAM spotted
This evening we spotted the OnePlus BE2012, which is the codename for the upcoming OnePlus Clover, on the Geekbench 5 database. It scores 245 points in the single-core test, while the multi-core score is 1174 points. Additionally, Geekbench listing reveals the presence of a 1.80GHz octa-core processor with the codename bengal, so the upcoming OnePlus device will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC under the hood. Snapdragon 460 on the device will be coupled with 4GB RAM, which is interesting as this will be the first OnePlus smartphone with just 4GB RAM released since 2016. Though, the smartphone might have higher memory variants as well. Geekbench listing also suggests that the smartphone will run Android 10.
OnePlus Clover specifications, features
OnePlus Clover is reported to pack a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will reportedly pack 64GB onboard storage with support for micro-SD cards. OnePlus Clover will pack a 13MP triple-rear camera setup including a couple of 2MP sensors if we go by the report. It will pack a 6000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Though the Clover is a budget device, OnePlus will not be compromising on the security and it will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Similar to every other OnePlus device, we can expect Clover to come with Dual-4G sim support and run OxygenOS on top of Android 10.
An HD+ display coupled with a mammoth 6000mAh battery might result in a pretty good battery life, but altogether this is going to be an interesting device as this will be OnePlus’ first attempt in the budget segment. As per the report, the device will be launch globally including the US.
To recall, OnePlus made a comeback in the mid-range segment this year with OnePlus Nord after a long gap 5 years gap, and so far Nord has been a bestseller in multiple markets. OnePlus will certainly try to maintain its track record with the upcoming Clover but only time will tell if OnePlus will be able to replicate the same in an already overcrowded segment.
