PS5 Prices Set to Increase, News on India Still Unclear

Typically, SIE considers India as part of the EMEA region. The PlayStation Plus rollout in India followed the same dates as in Europe. So far, there has been little news with regards to a price hike for the PlayStation 5 console in India.

Speculation within the Indian gaming community suggests the possibility of the price hike being masked with a bundle. Only recently, India received stock of the new Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 bundles for the PS5 and is likely to receive more in the next few months.

As of now, the PS5 Digital Edition is priced at Rs 39,990 while the optical disc drive, standard PS5, is priced at Rs 49,990. The inclusion of bundles usually takes the pricing up to Rs 53,990 (Horizon Forbidden West Bundle) for the standard PS5 and Rs 43,990 for the Digital Edition.

It will be interesting to see if India also sees a price hike with regards to the console. This news comes awfully close to the release of God of War Ragnarok, which is sure to be a major system seller for PlayStation.
