PUBG: Battlegrounds and Other Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass in January 2022

These games are leaving Xbox Game Pass by the end of this month.

Xbox Game Pass

The Xbox Game Pass has often been likened to the ‘Netflix for Games’ and much like Netflix, games are continuously added and removed from the service each month. This month, battle royale behemoth PUBG: Battlegrounds will be taking its exit from Game Pass, along with 6 other titles.

The list of games leaving Game Pass this month looks like this:

  • PUBG: Battlegrounds
  • Pandemic: The Board Game (PC, Xbox)
  • Mount and Blade: Warband (PC, Xbox)
  • The Little Acre
  • Desperados III (PC, Xbox)
  • YIIK: A Postmodern RPG
  • Ghost of a Tale

These games will be leaving the service at the end of the month, but PUBG fans probably aren’t very disappointed as the game will be going free-to-play on January 12, 2022, anyway.

PUBG: Battlegrounds and 6 other titles leaving Xbox Game Pass in January 2022

There are several great titles being added to Game Pass in January 2022, namely: The Anacrusis, Pupperazzi, and Windjammers 2. The rest of the year looks pretty stacked for the Game Pass as major Xbox first-party titles, such as Starfield are headed for the service on Day One.

2022 is shaping up to be a major year for Microsoft and Xbox, and it looks like the success of the Game Pass has perhaps motivated Sony and PlayStation to introduce a service that will rival the service. According to reports, Sony might currently be working on a service akin to the Game Pass, headed for launch sometime in Spring of 2022.

Details are on the new service are still a bit sparse, but it doesn’t seem that far-fetched that Sony will be looking to compete with Xbox on that front. It will be interesting to see how Sony chooses to price the service as one of the most appealing factors about the Game Pass is its incredibly affordable pricing.
