The tipster also said the game will not be a battle royale, a format which Krafton has aced with the PUBG universe.
You also have to wait some time for the game to release, just like you have been waiting for PUBG Mobile to relaunch in India (or have you? We’re looking at you VPN users). The tipster claims the game is in development stages and will take 2-3 years to release. How did he get hold of the info you wonder? Read on..

PUBG’s working on an open-world sci-fi shooter game. The project’s codenamed: Vertical.
It’s built on UE4, a pre-built engine, as such I can imagine them looking to release this game after 2-3 years.
Is this the PUBG2 game that was mentioned? If so, guess it’s not a BR. pic.twitter.com/XugVZ0203q

In related news, the developers have announced that they will host the alpha public testing of PUBG New State. The alpha testing kicks off from Q2 of 2021 in limited regions. Select players will get the opportunity to play the upcoming battle royale ahead of its official release. Currently, there is no word on the alpha testing of the game in India.
The developers also announced that New State has crossed over 10 million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store. The game is set in 2051 where “anarchy rules as numerous factions battle each other.” It will include a variety of tools and features, including drones, combat rolls, etc. The New State game will also have an 8×8 map that players can explore using vehicles. Like PUBG Mobile, the New State version will also include multiple weapon options for combat.
