Qualcomm did not mention the reason to move the launch timeline to November this year. It is being speculated that the company, along with Chinese smartphone makers, wanted to make the most of the Chinese New Year in January 2023. By announcing the new chipset weeks in advance, it gives enough room for smartphone manufacturers to launch their premium and flagship devices ahead of the Chinese New Year.

At the Snapdragon Summit, we can also expect to see some more chipsets alongside Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Qualcomm explicitly did not mention any details about the number of SoCs it would unveil at the event in November.
