Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC: Specifications and Features
Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC will power upcoming budget 5G smartphones worldwide. It is a successor to Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. The new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC is the first chipset in the Snapdragon 4 series family to be based on a 4nm fabrication process. The SoC has a peak clock speed of 2.2GHz and claims to offer 10 per cent better CPU performance compared to the predecessor.
It also offers support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+, which claims to refill up to 50 per cent of the battery in just 15 minutes. The SoC also supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution for improved clarity and smooth scrolling.
The budget 5G SoC from Qualcomm also claims to capture razor-sharp photos and videos with the help of electronic image stabilisation (EIS) and faster autofocus, which provide blur reduction for clearer images, even with moving subjects. Qualcomm also revealed that Multi-Camera Temporal Filtering (MCTF) is built into the hardware for the first time in a Snapdragon 4-series SoC, providing noise reduction for high-quality videos.
The new SoC also brings new AI enhancements, including an AI-based low-light for crisp, detailed images in dim environments. AI-enhanced background noise removal ensures users are heard clearly on calls and video during work or in a crowded environment.
