Realme is rolling out a new OTA software update for the Realme 1 in India, which comes with the build number CPH1861EX_11.A.29. This new update brings with it a new camera watermark, added reboot functionality, support for unlocking the bootloader, and Android Security Patch for the month of February.
According to the official post on Realme’s website, this new update will have a staged rollout, meaning that only a limited number of Realme 1 users will receive the update now, and if there are no critical issues with the update, the brand will then roll it out to the remaining Realme 1 users. However, if you do not want to wait till your device receives the OTA update, you can manually download the update from Realme’s website and install it with the help of instructions mentioned by the brand.
Let’s talk about the added features that this update brings. Realme 1 already had the camera watermark option. If you capture an image with this option enabled, the device will add ‘Shot on Realme 1’ watermark on the images. According to Realme, the latest update brings new camera watermark feature. Although we haven’t tested it out, it looks like they have added another watermark with a new style. The Realme 1 lacked the reboot option earlier, but this update adds that option too. The most important feature that this update brings, however, is the ability to unlock the bootloader. For those who do not know, your smartphone needs to have the bootloader unlocked to gain root access and install custom ROM. So, with the option to unlock the bootloader, users can now tinker with their OS.
