The Realme 1 is the first smartphone from Realme brand and was released in May this year. It was a very successful device from the company, which is an online subsidiary of Oppo. However, in just a matter of months, the company released the Realme 2. This was followed by the Realme 2 Pro launch and thereafter the Realme C1. As the company was releasing many new phones, users were concerned about software updates for the older devices. Fortunately, Realme has just confirmed that even the Realme 1 will receive the latest Android 9.0 Pie update.
Realme 1 Will Soon Receive Android 9 Pie OS Update
In a Twitter post, the company confirmed that the Realme 1 will soon be receiving the Android 9.0 Pie software update. This is great news for the customers of the first Realme smartphone. If you were worried about your Realme 1 not getting the Android Pie update, then you can relax now. We do not have the exact details about when the update will be available. However, the company did use the word ‘soon’, which hopefully means ‘in a few weeks’. A user questioned the manufacturer if the Realme 1 will receive the Pie update and it responded with the following tweet.
We would be releasing Android Pie soon for Realme 1 Please stay tuned with us on our social media channels. Thanks!

It is great that Realme will support older devices, however, it must be noted that the Realme 1 is just 6 months old. OEMs usually provide at least an year of software updates to its devices. Since the Realme 1 was released only a few months before the final version of Android 9.0 Pie, the device is entitled for the update. The hardware certainly supports the latest software from Google.
Realme had stated in June that the phone will receive the Android P update, which means that the company has had time to work on the update and deliver it soon. Once again, let us hope that ‘soon’ means weeks rather than months. The Android 9.0 Pie update will bring several new features and improvements over the current software. As of now, the Realme 1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with custom ColorOS 5.0 UI on top. With the update, you can expect better performance and improved battery life. You should also see changes to some UI elements and newer navigation gestures, animations, and more. Since the phone runs a custom Android ROM, you will also receive extra features provided by Realme. You can also expect improved AI features since the chipset supports AI.
The Android 9.0 Pie software update for Realme 1 will be delivered over-the-air. It will be a large download, so you will have to be connected to a strong Wi-Fi network. We will let you know when the update is released. Until then, stay tuned for more.
Realme 1 Now Available in Offline Stores
Until recently, the Realme smartphones have only been available for purchase online. The Realme 1 was exclusive to Amazon India, while the rest of the phones were released on Flipkart only. Now, all the phones will be available for purchase via offline retailers. Thanks to a partnership with Reliance, Realme will sell its devices at Jio and Reliance Digital stores. This is good news for those want to try out the phone before purchasing it.
The Realme 2 Pro, the top-of-the-line device from the company, is going on sale tomorrow on Flipkart. If you are interested in purchasing this device, you should try to buy one during the sale. The prices of the devices are said to hike after Diwali due to the falling value of the Rupee. Therefore, this sale is a good time to buy the phone for a cheaper price.
