Realme 2 Pro ColorOS 6 Update

OPPO‘s sub-brand Realme has finally started rolling out Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.0 update for its Realme 2 Pro smartphone. The OTA update is being rolled out in a phase-wise, which means that it will hit select units today and can be expected to have a broader reach starting tomorrow. Within a week, the update should have rolled out to all the Realme 2 Pro units.

Realme 2 Pro ColorOS 6 Update Brings New Features

The latest ColorOS 6 update for the Realme 2 Pro carrying build number RMX1801EX_11.A.20 brings a slew of features including Chroma Boost Mode, HAL3 support, Realme Theme Store, and more. The update is around 2.7GB in size so the users must ensure that their phone is on a stable network before going ahead with the download and installation.

The Chroma Boost Mode adds up to the camera app on the Realme 2 Pro with this latest update. This mode works with the support of HDR mode and flash. It aims at getting correct colors with less noise and enhanced frame while taking a shot. The Realme 2 Pro will have to enable this feature in the camera app. It is placed amidst the string of feature icons in the camera app.┬áThe update also adds HAL 3 or Camera2API support to the Realme 2 Pro. With this, other apps on the phone that require camera functionality can make better use of the device’s camera sub-system.

The ColorOS 6 update also brings the much-awaited Realme Theme Store onboard. With this, users will be able to download custom themes and tweak their phone’s screen outlook.

ColorOS 6 Update With Android Security Patch and Other Tweaks

Other features brought by the update includes the addition of notification icons in the status bar, lock screen magazine, app drawer for ColorOS launcher, Live Wallpaper, Riding mode, and more. The update also brings Android Security Patch for May 2019.

Concerning other changes, the ColorOS 6 updates the UI of the notification panel, the AI Board, and also upgraded the default theme of the phone. It also brings new apps abroad for select regions; these apps include App Market, Game Center, and Realme Community.

Going by the changelog of the update, we think that this is one of the most significant updates ever received by the Realme 2 Pro. The users must install the OTA update ASAP to enjoy the changes. Also, for the ones who do not receive the OTA by tomorrow, they can email their phone’s IMEI number to realme.feedback@realme.com. They must ensure beforehand that their phone is already on Android O firmware.
