Realme 3, 3 Pro to Get Theme Store with May Update, Other Models will Get via Android Pie Update

OPPO‘s sub-brand Realme recently launched the much-awaited Realme 3 Pro smartphone alongside Realme C2 in India. Now, in the latest move, Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth took to Twitter to announce the arrival of the Theme Store for Realme phones via OTA update. In the tweet, Sheth revealed that the update timeline for all the phones. Keep reading to know the details.

Realme Theme Store Update Timeline For Realme 3, Realme 3 Pro, Realme C2, and Others

Sheth revealed that the Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro smartphones would get the Theme Store with the update that will arrive in May 2019. The tweet states that the Realme C2 has pre-loaded Theme Store, which means it won’t need any OTA update like other Realme phones. Buyers of the Realme C2 would enjoy the Theme Store out-of-the-box.

Other Realme phones including the Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme C1, Realme U1, Realme 2 Pro will get the update for Theme Store whenever they receive ColorOS 6 updates. In the previous reports, we learned that the Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme C1, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme U1 would start receiving Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 update June onwards.

This is a piece of great news for Realme users who wanted a Theme Store. Until now, Realme users had to depend on third-party Theme stores to change the outlook of their phone’s UI, but now they will get official Realme themes on a dedicated Theme Store.

ColorOS 6 Geared With Superior Features For Realme Phones

The Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 brings a new UI for the Realme users, which is stacked with white and gradient backgrounds making the UI look premium. Even the game space gets a makeover with revamped UI and new features to make gaming easier on the phones. One of the most wanted features was the App Drawer that has finally debuted with the ColorOS 6 update. It enables users to search for apps in a jiffy with a dedicated search bar.

Other features included in the ColorOS 6 are smart gestures, which allows users to open apps or do a specific function with the help of a gesture. It also enables users to assign custom gestures for their preferred apps. The updated Smart Assistant on Realme phones makes it a matter of seconds for the user to sync up with the upcoming events and schedules. The ColorOS 6 also includes Smart Driving mode that acts as a shield for the users to not get disturbed by notifications or calls while driving.
