Realme 3 Launching in India on March 4 Via Flipkart, Here are the Features We Know So Far


The budget smartphones segment is heating up in India. We have seen almost all the mainstream manufacturers announcing and subsequently launching new handsets. Some of these handsets include the new Samsung Galaxy M series, the Galaxy A Series, and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 series that was announced yesterday. Another brand that is readying the launch of a new budget device is Oppo’s sub-brand Realme which will officially announce the Realme 3 on March 4. In this article, we take a closer look at the Realme 3 which as you might be already aware, is the successor to the Realme 2 and will compete against the likes of the Redmi Note 7 and the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2.

Realme 3: Known Specifications, features

While Realme is yet to officially reveal the specifications of the Realme 3, what is known is that the India version of the phone will most likely be powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC. This chipset is based on TSMC’s 12nm manufacturing process. This SoC gets an octa-core CPU setup that consists of four Cortex-A53 little cores mated to four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at up to 2.1 GHz. the graphics bit is handled by the Mali-G72 GPU that operates at up to 900 MHz. The phone is likely to be offered in 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB RAM/capacity options. It is also likely to come with a dedicated microSD card slot for additional memory.

While we do not know the actual size yet, the Realme 3’s display should measure around 6.2-inches and will feature HD+ resolution. We do not have at this point any information about the type of panel the handset uses. The Realme 3 also gets a 4230 mAh battery which is slightly larger than most of its rivals. The camera department on the Realme 3 is likely to be a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel setup at the rear and a 13-megapixel single camera at the front for selfies. The Realme 3, like other handsets from them, will run Oppo’s ColorOS 6 which is based on an Android 9 Pie. The phone also gets plenty of connectivity options that include VoLTE, Wi-Fi, micro USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Realme 3: Expected price in India

With the announcement of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 series in India with excellent price tags, Realme is under pressure to ensure that the Realme 3 is also a value for money device. It is quite likely that Realme will position the Realme 3 as a viable alternative to the Redmi Note 7. The final price of the Realme 3 will be revealed in the day of the launch, which as you might know, is March 4, 2019. The phone will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart.
