Realme recently confirmed that it will be launching the much-awaited Realme 3 Pro smartphone in India at an event in Delhi University on April 22. The smartphone will be a direct successor to last year’s Realme 2 Pro. Its main rival will be the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which arrived in India in March. Just like its predecessor, the Realme 3 Pro is expected to be an impressive device with multiple key selling points and an attractive design. In this article, we will be discussing five main reasons why we feel the Realme 3 Pro will be worth the wait. The teaser page of the Realme 3 Pro also went live on Flipkart today.
Powerful Snapdragon 710 Chipset
The Realme 3 Pro was recently certified by the Bluetooth SIG, confirming the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor inside. Apart from Bluetooth SIG, the device was also spotted on Geekbench recently with the same chipset under the hood. Manufactured on a 10nm process, the Snapdragon 710 features a slightly more powerful Adreno 616 GPU than the Adreno 612 in the Snapdragon 675. As confirmed by Realme CEO Madhav Sheth recently, the Realme 3 Pro will be the first smartphone in its segment to have native support for Fortnite.
The Realme 2 Pro is no doubt a very impressive budget smartphone. When it comes to battery life, however, the phone isn’t the most impressive. The Realme 3 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to have much better battery life. According to the Bluetooth SIG listing, the upcoming Realme phone will pack a large 3960mAh capacity battery.
The Realme 3 Pro, similar to the Realme 3, will be launched with Android Pie-based ColorOS 6.0 right out of the box. Apart from the new boundless design theme, ColorOS 6.0 offers several enhancements that are aimed at improving the user experience. Some of the main highlights include gesture navigation, a new launcher with app drawer, and Hyper Boost to deliver a “super fluid gaming experience”.
Realme CEO Madhav Sheth recently shared a few camera samples taken using the Realme 3 Pro. As expected, however, the EXIF data was removed from the images before publishing. While two of the images showed the HDR performance of the rear-facing camera, the other one teased the performance of the selfie camera. Going by the resolution of the selfie shot shared by Sheth, the selfie snapper on the Realme 3 Pro will offer a resolution higher than 13 megapixels. Rumors suggest the phone may feature a 25MP front-facing camera with a number of AI-powered beautification features.
In addition to offering better battery life than the Realme 2 Pro, the Realme 3 Pro is expected to be the company’s very first smartphone to have support for fast charging. Realme had teased the feature back in February this year, although it hasn’t officially confirmed fast charging support just yet. While the smartphone may utilize OPPO’s VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge technology, there is a possibility of Realme marketing the fast charging technology using a different moniker. Its main rival, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support.
