It’s been just a few days since Chinese smartphone maker Realme launched its new budget handset the Realme 3 in India. Like other Realme devices, the Realme 3 is sold via a flash sale mechanism, and the very first sale went live on Flipkart on March 12. A day after the first sale, Realme has revealed that the company managed to sell more than 210,000 units of the phone on the very first sale.

In a tweet made by Realme India’s official Twitter account, the company has revealed that more than 210,000 units of the Realme 3 in the first flash sale held on March 12. The tweet goes on to thank all the buyers for the ‘overwhelmig response’ to the phone and also announced that the next sale of the handset will happen at noon on March 19, 2019. The tweet also goes on to claim that the Realme 3 is the new segment leader. We have embedded the tweet below.

Realme 3 Specifications, features, price in India
A successor to the popular Realme 2, the Realme 3 boasts of a large 6.2-inch HD+ display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC. The phone is offered in two versions, a base 3GB RAM variant that gets 32GB of storage, and a higher priced 4GB RAM version that gets 64GB of memory. Both these variants get a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
For imaging, the Realme 3 gets a dual camera setup at the rear consisting of a 13-megapixel primary camera mated to a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front facing camera is a 13-megapixel fixed focus unit.
The Realme 3 runs Android 9 Pie underneath a layer of OPPO’s Color OS 6, the newest iteration of OPPO’s custom UI. This version of ColorOS features several improvements over its predecessor and has features like Chroma Boost and Nightscape that improve the low-light imaging capabilities. The battery capacity of the Realme 3 is 4,230mAh which is on par with what the competition has on offer.
As for the pricing, the base version of the Realme starts at INR 8,999 for the 3GB RAM+32GB variant and goes up to INR 10,999 for the 4GB RAM+64GB Storage model. The Realme 3 is offered in Classic Black and Dynamic Black color options. The Realme 3 is sold only via Realme’s own store and on Flipkart. Currently, the device is sold via a weekly flash sale.
