Realme 7 vs Redmi Note 9 Pro vs POCO M2 Pro: Price in India

Realme 7 comes in two variants, the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 14,999, while the higher 128GB storage variant with 8GB RAM costs Rs. 16,999. Redmi Note 9 Pro is available in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant which is priced at Rs 13,999, the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs Rs 15,999, while the top-end 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs Rs. 16,999. POCO M2 Pro is priced at Rs. 13,999 for 4GB RAM and 64GB, Rs. 14,999 for 6GB RAM and 64GB, while 6GB RAM and 128GB costs Rs. 16,999.

Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro start at Rs. 13,999, which is Rs 1,000 cheaper compared to the base variant of Realme 7 but if we compare the Rs 16,999 variant of all the phones, Realme 7 offers 2GB extra RAM.

All three devices have a modern-looking bezel-less front with a punch-hole notch. Realme 7 has an outstanding design which the company calls mirror design. POCO M2 Pro, on the other hand, has a dual-tone design that gives it a not so flashy yet elegant look, while the design on the Redmi Note 9 Pro looks a bit underwhelming compared to the competition. Realme 7 has a polycarbonate back, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro have a Glass back which is also protected under Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

Realme 7 comes in Mist Blue, and Mist White colors, Redmi note 9 Pro is available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey color options while the POCO M2 Pro comes in Two Shades of Black, Out of the Blue, and Green and Greener colors.

Realme 7 features a 6.5-inch FHD+ panel with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 resulting in a pixel density of 405ppi. It is a 90Hz panel with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. On the other hand, Redmi Note 9 Pro packs a 6.67-inch FHD+ panel with 2400 × 1080 resolution and 450nits brightness, while the POCO M2 Pro also has a 6.67-inch FHD+ panel but with 480nits brightness. Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro both have a 60Hz panel covered under Covered Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

All three devices feature a punch-hole notch for the selfie shooter which is located on the top left side on the Realme 7, while Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro have it in the middle. In this department, Realme 7 has an edge over the competition due to a higher refresh rate 90Hz display.

Coming to the performance, Realme 7 packs a MediaTek Helio G95 SoC built on a 12nm process, while Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro are both powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G built on 8nm process. The graphics duties on the Realme 7 are handled by ARM Mali-G76 GPU, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro have Adreno 618 GPU which is clocked at 750MHz. All three devices feature LPDDR4X RAM coupled with UFS 2.1 storage along with a dedicated Micro-SD card slot.

Coming to the optics, the Realme 7 packs a 64MP quad-rear camera setup with a Sony IMX682 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with FOV 119° and f/2.3 aperture, a 2MP B&W portrait camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro feature 48MP quad-rear camera setup with Samsung ISOCELL GM2 primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with FOV 119° and f/2.2 aperture, 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.

On the selfie side, the Realme 7 features a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with f/2.1 aperture, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro also have a 16MP shooter, but it’s not a sony sensor. Realme 7 and POCO M2 Pro both support Night Sight for the front camera, which Redmi Note 9 Pro lacks.

In the camera department, Realme 7 again beats the competition with superior 64MP quad rear camera setup and a Sony sensor at the front.

The Realme 7 packs a 5000mAh battery with 30W DART charging support, while the Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro both pack a slightly higher capacity 5020mAh battery with 18W and 33W charging support respectively. All three devices have a Type-C port for charging. In this department, Redmi Note 9 Pro seems inferior to the other devices.

Realme 7 seems like a better offering, be it the design, 90Hz higher refresh rate display, higher megapixel count, or the fast VOOC charging. Redmi Note 9 Pro and POCO M2 Pro share a lot in common but POCO M2 Pro comes with a better design, brighter display, and faster-charging support at 33W.
