Realme launched the Realme 8, and the Realme 8 Pro smartphones in India last month. However, the company during the last month’s event didn’t launch the 5G version of these handsets. We are aware of the fact that Realme is prepping up for the launch of the Realme 8 5G, as it was confirmed by Realme CEO Madhav Sheth in an interview last month. We even saw the Realme 8 5G moniker getting certified by NBTC a few weeks back. In a recent development, the Realme 8 5G has now appeared on Geekbench. The Geekbench listing confirms the hardware specifications of the device ahead of launch. Let’s check out the details revealed by preliminary benchmark listing ahead:

Realme 8 5G Spotted on Geekbench

If we go through the Geekbench results, we can see that the Realme 8 5G carries the model number as RMX3241. This is the same model, which had got the prior NBTC certification a few weeks ago. The Geekbench results reveal that the Realme 8 5G will pack MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G SoC, and 8GB of RAM. On the software front, the device will run Android 11 out of the box. The smartphone has managed to score 570 points and 1766 points in the single-core and multi-core test respectively at Geekbench.

In a piece of related news, we even saw the Realme 8 5G getting FCC certification a few days ago. The FCC documents had disclosed that the 5G model will ship with a 5000mAh battery. Dimensions-wise, the device is supposed to measure at around 162.5x 74.8×8.5mm, and weigh around 185 grams. The smartphone will run Android 11 out of the box with Realme UI 2.0, as revealed by FCC documents. The phone’s schematics were even revealed by FCC documents, which showcased us that the device will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Connectivity-wise, the smartphone is tipped to offer 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS/GLONASS, NFC, and 5G support

Apart from the FCC and NBTC certifications, the Realme 8 5G even had gained the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification last month. This does suggest us that the phone’s launch is imminent in India soon. The other specs of the 5G model such as its display size and camera configuration remain unknown as of now.

As far as the launch of the launch of the Realme 8 5G go, it is rumoured to launch on April 22 in India (Via: Realme Central). On the same day, Realme is even expected to announce the Realme 8 5G Pro model as well. However, as of now, we still don’t have any official confirmation regarding the April 22 launch of these devices. We shall get to learn more from Realme soon if there’s actually any event happening on April 22 regarding the launch of these smartphones.
