Realme is gearing up to launch a new budget smartphone in India. The company has confirmed the Realme 9i India launch date. The budget 4G smartphone from Realme will be officially unveiled in India on January 18. The company has sent out media invites confirming the launch. Realme launched the device earlier this month in Vietnam. 

The phone shares some of the design elements with the premium GT Neo 2. It comes with a Snapdragon 680 4G processor under the hood. There is also a triple-camera setup on the back. Let’s take a look at the Realme 9i launch in India, specifications, features, and other details.

Realme 9i will debut on January 18 in India. The budget smartphone is expected to launch with the same specs found on the Vietnamese variant. The company has already confirmed that the device’s Blue colour variant will launch in India. It is also said to be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 680 SoC in the segment.

As per a recent leak, Realme 9i could come with a starting price of Rs 14,499. The device is also said to come in multiple storage options. We can expect the phone to arrive with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage along with a 6GB RAM option.

Specifications and features

The budget Realme smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 680 SoC under the hood. It has a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging via USB Type-C. The phone sports a triple-camera setup on the back. It has a 50MP main camera sensor, coupled with two 2MP sensors for shooting macro images and depth sensing.

At the front, there is a tall 6.6-inch IPS LCD with 480 nits brightness. It has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The phone comes with a hole-punch cutout at the top left corner of the screen for the front camera. It also supports a 90Hz refresh rate.

For selfies, the device has a 16MP front camera sensor. It comes with Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with AI face unlock. The phone weighs 190 grams and is 8.4mm thick.
