Realme A1 Budget Smartphone to Launch in India Soon, Color Options Leaked: Report

According to a new report from DroidShout, Realme might soon launch a new smartphone, the Realme A1. According to the source, the Realme A1 will be the budget smartphone from the company upon its launch. The smartphone will be priced close to INR 10,000 mark. The report also says that the smartphone will come in Black and Yellow color variants. Apart from that, currently, there are no other details regarding the device.

As of now, the Realme C1 and Realme 2 are the most affordable smartphones from the company. They are priced at INR 7,499 and INR 8,499 respectively. If the latest report is to be believed, the Realme A1 will be priced between the Realme C1 and Realme U1. According to DroidShout, the Realme A1 could be priced around INR 6,000. At this price, the Realme A1 will compete against smartphones like ASUS Zenfone Max M2, Nokia 5.1 Plus, and Redmi 6.

Realme A1 Could Have Better Hardware Than the Competition

So far, all the smartphones that Realme has launched in India are selling well. The main reason behind their success is that they have better hardware than most of their competitors. The brand will most probably follow the same path for the upcoming A1 as well. The smartphone might offer better hardware than the competition too. So, to get a better idea of what the A1 could offer, we will first have to take a look at what the other smartphones in the same price range have.

Most smartphones that are priced under INR 10,000 come equipped with an Octa-core processor (mostly Snapdragon 4XX, and 6XX series chipsets), a 5-inch to 6-inch display with HD resolution, a single camera at the front and dual at the back, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a battery capacity of around 3000mAh. Considering that Realme A1 will have better hardware than this, here is what the device could come with.

What could the Realme A1 offer?

We all know by now that Realme likes to equip its smartphones with the most powerful chipset in their price segment. So, like most smartphones in the price range, the Realme A1 could come with an octa-core processor. However, it could be a MediaTek SoC instead of a Snapdragon chipset (mainly because MediaTek will cost less). The smartphone could also offer a dual-camera setup.

The smartphone could most probably feature a display with nearly bezel-less design and a notch. If Realme A1 manages to offer that, it will be one of the very few devices in the price range to have a notched, nearly bezel-less display. The base variant will have at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There could also be another variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. What we have seen so far is that Realme smartphones pack a large battery. Keeping that in mind, we think the Realme A1 could feature a battery with around 4000mAh capacity. The brand could also pack the device with Android 9 Pie OS, which will give the A1 a huge advantage over its competitors.

If what we are predicting is correct, the Realme A1 could very well be the king in its price segment. Well, we could only say for sure, once the device is launched. Speaking of launch, the Realme A1 will most probably launch in the first quarter of 2019.
