Realme to Announce a New 5G Product Tomorrow in China, Realme X3 or X50 Youth Edition Expected

Not too long ago, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme launched its Realme X50 Pro 5G smartphone in India. Realme, so far, has only two smartphones that are 5G capable – Realme X50 and Realme X50 Pro. That, however, does not appear to be the case for too long now, as the company is reportedly working on a number of 5G devices. Notably, Realme is gearing up for the launch of its Realme X3 series of smartphones, which is said to consist of 5G smartphones. Plus, the brand has the Realme X50 Youth edition in the pipeline, which was spotted on the TENAA certification authority a little while ago. Now, as it turns out, Realme will announce a new 5G mobile phone tomorrow (April 23, 2020) in China, which is speculated to be the Realme X3. Take a look at the latest development that has taken place in the Realme camp and find out what we know about the Realme X3 smartphone so far.

Realme X3 Tipped to Launch on April 23; Here’s What We Know So Far

Earlier today, Realme broke the news about the arrival of its latest 5G smartphone in China via its official Weibo handle. Here’s what the post reads (roughly translated from Chinese):

“Tomorrow, realme, the new member of my 5G family is about to report to
real excited! Guess TA is ______?

Follow + comment, draw 1 to send realme headphones.”

The post also consists of a promotional video, which does not explicitly tell us anything about the upcoming device, but it has the company’s current lineup of 5G smartphones, thereby hinting that the upcoming product will be a totally new device.


Readers should be informed that it is not officially confirmed that the company will launch the Realme X3 only. It can very well unveil the Realme X50 Youth edition. The Realme X50 Youth will feature a 6.57-inch TFT panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The device will be available in three RAM variants – 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB — and three storage options: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

For optics, the Realme X50 Youth will feature a quadruple rear camera setup, which will include a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP secondary ultra wide-angle camera, and a pair of 2MP cameras. At the front, the Realme X50 Youth will feature a dual punch-hole selfie camera setup, which will consist of a 16MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary lens.

As far as the battery of the device is concerned, the Realme X50 Youth will be fueled by a 4,100mAh battery, which will have support for up to 30W fast charging. Coming to the OS, the Realme X50 Youth will ship with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s proprietary Realme UI skin baked on top of it.

As for the Realme X3, so far, we have not received too much intel surrounding the vanilla Realme X3, but we are confirmed that there will be a Realme X3 SuperZoom edition, which will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor.
