The Realme C1 is an entry-level handset from Oppo’s sub-brand Realme. The handset was first announced back in September 2018 when it was officially unveiled along with its more expensive and flashier sibling, the Realme 2 Pro. Just five months after its launch Realme has decided to give its entry-level device a mid-life update. The company today announced the launch of the new Realme C1 2019 edition that features to major upgrades over the older models. In a video message to Realme fans, the company CEO Madhav Seth announced the two new versions of the Realme C1 2019 edition. In India, the Realme C1 originally came in a single version priced at INR 6,999. This price of the Realme C1 was hiked a few months later. Anyway, let us now check out what the Realme C1 2019 Edition has to offer.

Realme C1 2019 Edition: What’s different from the older models?

As outlined in an earlier article, the Realme C1 2019 edition boasts of minor updates to the device. The most talked about one, however, would be the fact that the 2GB RAM + 16GB version has now been replaced by a 2GB + 32GB version. The second version of the Reame C1 2019 Edition gets 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There is no change as far as the other specifications are concerned. Earlier reports had suggested at the possibility of the new Realme C1 models getting a higher capacity battery as well. That, however, was not to be. There have also been no design changes to the Realme C1 2019 Edition. Let us now take a quick look at the specifications of the Realme C1 2019 Edition.

Realme C1 2019 Edition Specifications, Sale date, Price in India

The Realme C1 2019 Edition is identical to its older 2018 versions except for the upgraded storage and RAM. The handset continues to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC that houses an octa-core processor with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked up to 1.8 GHz. This SoC also integrates an X9 LTE modem. The graphics are handled by the Adreno 506 GPU with support for Vulkan and OpenGL ES 3.1. The handset also supports WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1. The phone now comes in two versions – a base 2GB RAM +32GB version and a pricier 3GB + 32GB version.

Both these versions get a large 6.2-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels in the tall 19:9 ratio. The camera setup on the Realme C1 includes a 13-megapixel primary camera mated to a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Like the older version of the Realme C1, the 2019 Edtion of the phone also gets the same 4230 mAh Li-ion Battery.

The Realme C1 2019 Edition is all set to go on sale starting February 5, 2019, at 12 noon. The phone will be sold on Flipkart as well as on Realme’s own website. It is also set to make an appearance at offline retailers soon. The base 2GB RAM +32GB version of the Realme C1 2019 Edition has been priced at INR 7499 while the 3GB RAM + 32GB variant will set you back by INR 8499.
