Realme C55 India Launch Teased by Company; Could Launch Later This Month

Realme launched a new C series smartphone in Indonesia recently. The Realme C55 is the successor to the existing Realme C35 smartphone. The smartphone was the first Android device to come with a display notch like setup inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island design seen on iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max . Realme calls the design as Mini capsule, which is essentially an expandable punch-hole.

When expanded, it can display notifications like charging, full battery prompt, low battery warning, data consumption, steps walked, and walking distance. Realme India has teased the launch of an upcoming smartphone in a tweet. The company will likely launch the newly launched Realme C55 soon in India.

Realme C55 Soon Launching in India: Specifications

Realme India has created a new event page for an upcoming C series smartphone. The event page has the caption “Entertainment Ka Champion” with a coming soon notification. The brand claims that the Realme C series has always been entertaining, and it listed the existing Realme C35, C30, and C25 smartphones. Realme will launch the Realme C55 smartphone in India by the end of March 2023.

Since the smartphone is already launched in Indonesia, we know the device’s specifications. Realme equips the smartphone with a 6.52-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution. The display has a peak brightness of 680 nits, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz touch sampling rate. Underneath, the smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset built on a 12nm process.

The chipset is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Realme also equips the smartphone with a virtual RAM feature. The brand also adds a micro-SD card slot for increasing storage. It runs on RealmeUI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. In the optics department, the Realme C55 sports a dual-rear camera setup. The setup comprises a primary 64MP sensor with PDAF.

A 2MP depth sensor and an LED flash accompany the primary sensor. The display houses the 8MP selfie camera inside the punch-hole. A large 5000 mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOV fast charging tech backs the smartphone. Realme has equipped the smartphone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

On the connectivity front, it features a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB type C port, NFC, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. Realme has launched the smartphone in two colour options: Sunshower and Rainy Night. The device has a dimension of 165.6 × 75.9 × 7.89mm and weighs 189.5 grams.

Realme has priced the smartphone at Rp 2,499,000 (approx. Rs 13,300) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The higher variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rp 2,999,000 (approx. Rs 16,000).
