Realme C55 smartphone has been announced in the Indian market this week, marking a big change from all the hype around 5G phones in the past few months. Realme C55 focuses on the basics with a big screen, fast charging the battery and longer software support. The budget phone market has been deprived of quality options, but even then, buyers are now slowly seeing changes, and Realme seems to be giving other brands more reasons to target the entry-level segment.

Realme C55 has some interesting features, but even then, some of you might be thinking if the new phone has enough mettle to go against Poco C55 and the Samsung Galaxy F04 in this range. Here is our detailed comparison to give you a straight answer.

Realme C55 vs Poco C55 vs Samsung Galaxy F04: Price in India

The Realme C55 starting price in India is Rs 10,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. The smartphone also gets 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants that are priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 13,999, respectively.

The POCO C55 price in India is Rs 9,499 for the 4GB + 64GB model. The smartphone can also be bought with 6GB + 128GB, which costs Rs 10,999.

The Samsung Galaxy F04 price in India is Rs 7,499, which includes various discounts, and gets you the lone 4GB + 64GB variant.

Realme C55 vs Poco C55 vs Samsung Galaxy F04: Design

Realme C55 looks to offer a refreshing take in the budget segment. The phone has a matte finish on the frame, and the textured matte back panel has been glazed with a sun shower design as per the company. Basically, you see the colour shifting when the light shines on the panel, and we kind of like it. The camera module has a big presence even though it has two sensors, but otherwise, the unibody design has a nice balance and doesn’t feel unwieldy with its 7.8mm thickness and weight of 189.2 grams.

Poco’s namesake phone model also gives a fresh twist to the look and feel of the budget device. The back panel has a leather texture which is a rarity in this segment. The phone weighs 192 grams which is slightly heavier than the Realme C55, but it is on the thicker side at 8.77mm.

Samsung Galaxy F04 has a plastic body with two circular cutouts where the camera sensors reside at the back. Samsung is using a similar design language across all its products, but this model is hefty, with a 9.1mm thickness and a not-so-heavy weight of 188 grams.

When you look at the overall combo, Realme C55 has the obvious ingredients to become the appealing choice for buyers with respect to its design.

Realme C55 vs Poco C55 vs Samsung Galaxy F04: Display

The Realme C55 comes with a 6.52-inch LCD panel that offers a 90Hz refresh rate screen and supports Full HD+ (1080 × 2400 pixel) resolution with a peak brightness of 680 nits. The phone’s screen gets a punch-hole cutout, which is good to see in this segment. You also get iPhone’s Dynamic Island-like notch feature called Mini Capsule that gives you battery charging status, data usage alert and step count.

POCO C55 features a standard 6.71-inch LCD display panel with a 60Hz refresh rate of 500 nits of peak brightness. The display offers HD+ (1650 × 720 pixels) resolution, 120Hz touch sampling rate, and Panda glass for protection. You have a water drop notch housing the front camera.

Samsung’s Galaxy F04 phone sports a 6.5-inch LCD display with an HD+ (1600 × 720 pixels) resolution and 269 ppi pixel density. The screen supports a 60Hz refresh rate and features a notch.

Once again, we feel that Realme’s proposition is much more feature-rich than what Poco and Samsung have to offer with their devices.

Realme C55 vs Poco C55 vs Samsung Galaxy F04: Performance and UI

Realme C55 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 processor with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage that is further expandable. You also have the virtual RAM expansion feature, which doubles up the memory on the device. It comes pre-loaded with Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0, and Realme promises it will offer multiple Android OS updates.

POCO C-series smartphone uses an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor, paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.2 expandable storage. Poco is offering the Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box, which is quite outdated now.

The latest F-series smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor that comes mated to 4GB of RAM and offers an additional 4GB RAM via the RAM Plus feature. The smartphone runs on the OneUI 4.1 version, which is also based on Android 12. The brand also promises two Android version upgrades for the Galaxy F04.

Realme uses better hardware, and more RAM options and also gives you Android 13 in this range which has been hard to achieve for most phone brands.

Realme C55 vs Poco C55 vs Samsung Galaxy F04: Cameras

The Realme C55 comes with a dual-rear camera system that includes a 64MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The front of the phone gets an 8MP shooter that helps you with video calls and selfies.

POCO C55 also gets a dual-rear camera setup that includes a 50MP primary sensor, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. Poco is offering a 5MP front shooter that takes care of selfies and video calls.

Samsung’s budget phone has dual cameras at the back with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, Samsung has included a 5MP selfie shooter.

Realme definitely has improved on the camera front with the C55 smartphone and even with the higher megapixel count you can expect better performance from the sensors.

Realme C55 vs Poco C55 vs Samsung Galaxy F04: Battery

The Realme C55 is packed with a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging support. It features a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfers.

Poco’s C-series smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery that can be charged at 10W but over a micro-USB port.

Samsung Galaxy F04 also has a 5000mAh battery that supports 15W charging speed over the Type-C charging port.

Realme C55 vs Poco C55 vs Samsung Galaxy F04: Verdict

Realme C55 is not only a fresh take on a budget 4G phone, it has easily shown the drawbacks of other budget devices that buyers have to choose from. Realme C55 has a new design language, powerful hardware on board and Android 13 out of the box. You also have quality cameras and a fast-charging battery. Even when you look at the prices, Realme C55 definitely delivers better value compared to the other two phones, and we can easily recommend it based on the features.
