Realme may soon launch a new budget Android smartphone in the Indian market. A landing page for an upcoming Realme smartphone is now live on Flipkart, which suggests the launch event may happen very soon. While we cannot be completely sure, there is a good chance that the OPPO spinoff brand may be planning to launch the rumored A1 smartphone.

Realme A1 Set to Launch Soon?

Going by the “Entertainment ka Boss” landing page on Flipkart, the upcoming Realme smartphone will be focused on entertainment. While no actual features or specifications have been listed on Flipkart, the landing page seems to suggest the smartphone will ship with an impressively high onboard storage space and a display with a wide notch. Since the Realme U1 and Realme 2 Pro both feature a more appealing waterdrop-style notch, the smartphone teased on Flipkart is likely to be positioned below them. This could mean the handset will be available in India for somewhere around INR 10,000 at launch. As you may have figured already, the smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart in India. The company had previously tied up with Flipkart for the Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme C1 smartphones.

According to a previous leak from DroidShout, the Realme A1 will be available in two color options at launch: Black and Yellow. No hardware specifications of the smartphone have surfaced yet, although we expect it to be slightly less impressive than the Realme U1 in most areas. Since it will be an entertainment-focused handset, however, the upcoming Realme smartphone may sport a large display with Full HD+ resolution. Under the hood, there is a possibility of it being powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 or P70 chipset. Moving on to optics, the smartphone is expected to sport dual rear cameras with AI-backed features and a relatively impressive AI selfie snapper on the front. As for software, the smartphone will possibly launch with Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2 version out of the box. Realme will probably roll out the Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6.0 update for the handset sometime later this year. A majority of the company’s smartphone portfolio is expected to receive the ColorOS 6.0 update sometime later this year.
