Realme finally launched the Realme 5i smartphone in India. The device is kept at an asking price of Rs. 8,990 in India. As the company’s trend follows, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme, teased another product at the very end of the Realme 5i launch video – the Realme Fitness Band. The company had been teasing its first-ever fitness band for long, and finally, we have the first official look at it.
Realme Fitness Band Teased During the Realme 5i Launch, Indian Launch Imminent

As seen in the images above, Madhav Sheth was caught (howsoever intentionally, though) wearing a Yellow-coloured strapped wearable which, judging by the size, appears to be a fitness band (and not a smartwatch). The reason as to why we are still debating about it is the fact that Madhav did not explicitly use the term ‘fitness band’ during the launch and his focus was entirely on teasing a fitness product. Nevertheless, the Realme Fitness Band will come in Yellow colour and will have holes on its strap to accommodate various wrist sizes. That said, we can certainly expect more colour variants of the band when it launches. Speaking of the launch date, Madhav claimed that the Realme Fitness Band is ‘coming soon’, so we can expect it to launch soon in India. The actual launch date, however, is not revealed for now. It could very well launch alongside the upcoming Realme 6 series of smartphones which, by the way, has also been teased by the company lately.
Other than the Realme Fitness Band and the Realme 5i itself, the company also unveiled its new ‘Blue’ range of tech-fashion accessories. These include an all-new Blue colored variant of the Realme power bank, a Blue colored protective cover for the Realme Buds Air, and a Blue colored Realme Hoodie which has the company’s ‘Dare to Leap’ written in Yellow at the back.
Speaking of the Realme smartwatch, we might soon hear something about the company’s first-ever smartwatch as well. As a matter of fact, the Realme RMA183 smartwatch has recently been caught on the BIS certification website, which means that the smartwatch will launch in India, sometime in the future.
As far as the Realme 5i is concerned, the company has finally decided to let go of the Realme 5 smartphone and has replaced it with the ‘i’ model. The Realme 5i packs in a 6.52-inch IPS LCD HD+ panel which has a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage can further be increased with the help of an external SD card (the Realme 5i features a dedicated SD card slot, alongside two slots for the SIM cards). A 5,000mAh battery fuels the device. The Realme 5i can reverse-charge other devices, but it lacks fast charging itself. Plus, the device lacks a USB Type-C charging port and makes do with a standard USB 2.0 charging port. On the software front, the Realme 5i runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box with ColorOS 6.1 baked on top of it. Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the device will receive the latest Realme UI update in the future. To know more about the Realme 5i, you can head to our previous coverage of the same.
