Realme has been teasing the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone in China for a couple of weeks. The company previously confirmed the moniker of the forthcoming Realme flagship smartphone. Realme also teased the RAM, storage, and fast charging speeds of the upcoming Realme GT 5 smartphone. The company previously teased that the smartphone will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen series chipset.
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has already revealed the chipset details of the forthcoming device. The upcoming smartphone was initially tipped to launch under the GT Neo 6 moniker. MySmartPrice had exclusively revealed the renders of the GT Neo 6 smartphone in association with OnLeaks. Later OnLeaks confirmed that Realme will launch these smartphones under the GT 5 moniker. Realme has officially announced the launch date of the upcoming GT 5 smartphone through a Weibo post.
Realme GT 5 Launch Date and Leaked Specifications
Realme confirms that the smartphone will launch in China at 2 PM (UTC + 8) on August 28. The teaser also calls the upcoming smartphone Gold of War and King of Android performance. OnLeaks had previously confirmed that Realme will launch the smartphone in international markets, including China. Xu Qi, Realme President, previously confirmed that the device will pack up to 24GB of RAM. The upcoming Realme smartphone will be the third mass-produced smartphone with 24GB of RAM.
Realme President adds that the inclusion of 24GB RAM will help improve the user experience. Another teaser shared by the company confirms that the device will be equipped with up to 1TB of storage. However, Realme is unlikely to launch 24GB + 1TB configurations outside China. Realme also confirmed that the device will be packed with 240W fast charging tech. A past leak hinted that Realme will launch the smartphone in two variants with different fast charging speeds similar to Realme GT Neo 5.
Realme is tipped to launch the smartphone in 4600mAh and 5000mAh variants with 240W and 150W fast charging support. The teaser confirmed the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen series chipset and teased that over 30 smartphones are equipped with 8 Gen 2, but none touched the performance limit. The teaser hints that Realme will equip the smartphone with better performance with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Realme is likely to pair the chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The past leaks reveal that the smartphone will have a 6.74-inch OLED display with a 144HZ refresh rate. A leaked render of the smartphone shared by Digital Chat Station confirms that the device will feature a centred punch-hole cut-out. The smartphone will be equipped with ultra-thin bezels around the display. The primary microphone, USB Type-C port, SIM card slot, and speaker grille can be seen on the bottom of the smartphone.
