Realme lacks flagship smartphones in the Indian and global markets. Even though Realme launched its flagship Realme GT 3 240W in the global markets, it never went on sale. The brand is trying to recapture its performance in those segments with its upcoming smartphones. Realme recently confirmed that it would launch a new GT and GT Neo series smartphones in the H2 of 2023. However, the brand didn’t explicitly reveal the name of the upcoming smartphones. Realme has revealed the name of its upcoming GT series smartphones through a Weibo post. Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has also tipped some key specifications of the upcoming Realme GT 5 smartphone. Realme has also showcased the smartphone at the 2023 China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference.
Previously, we at MySmartPrice had exclusively revealed the renders of the upcoming Realme GT Neo 6 series smartphones in partnership with popular leakster OnLeaks. A recent tweet from OnLeaks reveals that Realme might market the Realme GT Neo 6 smartphone as Realme GT 5. Digital Chat Station has revealed that the upcoming smartphone will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The tipster adds that the chipset will be paired with up to 24GB of RAM.
Realme is also likely to launch the smartphone with up to 1TB of storage. Realme is tipped to equip the smartphone with a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The display will have a refresh rate of 144Hz and 2160PWM. Digital Chat Station also adds that the smartphone will be equipped with either 240W / 150W fast charging tech. Previously, the TENAA and 3C certifications of the vanilla GT Neo 6 revealed that it would bear the model number RMX3820.
The upcoming Realme GT 5 smartphone is tipped to feature a triple rear camera setup in a large rectangular cut-out. The device will have a 50MP primary lens with OIS, a secondary 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. The showcased smartphone at the 2023 China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference reveals that it will sport a centred punch-hole cutout.
Realme is expected to equip the smartphone with a 16MP selfie camera. The company is also tipped to equip the device with an X-axis haptic motor. The TENAA listing also revealed that it would have a dimension of 163.1 × 75.38 × 8.86mm and weigh around 205 grams.
