It’s no secret that Realme is working on the Realme GT smartphone. This particular device is in the news from the past couple of weeks, which internally is codenamed as the Realme Race. The smartphone has already cleared TENAA certification this month, implying that its launch was closer. In December, Realme even officially revealed the teaser image of the device, giving an idea what the phone could look like. Well, Realme has now confirmed the launch of the Realme GT 5G smartphone in Europe and China, which is set to go official on March 4th. Realme GT 5G Global Launch Set For March 4th
Realme’s VP Xu Qi Chase shared a poster on Weibo today morning, confirming that the Realme GT 5G will launch on March 4th in China. Some time later, the Europe launch of the smartphone was also confirmed. The poster shared by VP doesn’t specifically mention any specs of the phone, but it does one way confirm that the handset will be named as the Realme GT 5G.
Additionally, speaking about this new naming scheme, the Realme GT 5G naming convention is taken from the concept of GT sports cars, which are designed for high-speed and long-distance driving, offering both high performance and reliable attributes. Similarly, Realme affirms that like the GT sports cars, the Realme GT 5G will offer high performance, which will be utilizing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset.

Realme GT 5G Rumoured Specifications
If we have a recap of the specs of the Realme GT 5G from the past news, the smartphone is expected to feature a 6.8-inch display with 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution, offering a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is confirmed to pack in Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, which might be aided with 12GB of RAM. The smartphone is said to arrive in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB internal storage options. On the software side, the Realme GT 5G might run Android 11 out-of-the box, with Realme’s custom Realme UI 2.0 skin.
In terms of imaging, the Realme GT 5G might feature a triple camera setup. The main primary camera sensor at the back is suspected to be of 64MP.
