Realme is gearing up for the launch of a new premium smartphone. The company has been teasing the launch of the GT Neo 2. The new Realme GT series phone has now received a launch date. Realme has confirmed that the GT Neo 2 will launch in China on September 22. The device will launch as a successor of the original GT Neo, which was launched earlier this year. The GT Neo was launched in India as the X7 Max. Since there is no X-series smartphone launching in India going forward, we can expect the Neo 2 launch with the GT branding in India. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at the Realme GT Neo 2 specifications, features and other details.

Realme GT Neo 2 launch confirmed

Realme GT Neo 2 is confirmed to launch in China on September 22. The teaser post does not confirm any details of the device ahead of the launch. Realme is expected to launch the device later this year in India. There is no word on the launch timeline at the moment.

Meanwhile, we already know some of the key details of the upcoming Realme smartphone. Under the hood, the phone will draw power from a Snapdragon 870 SoC. It will likely come with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

The phone will sport a 6.62-inch Full HD+ display. This is typically bigger than most Realme phones, which sport a 6.43-inch screen. The GT Neo 2’s AMOLED display will also support a 120Hz refresh rate. Leaked design renders reveal that the phone has a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner of the screen.

The device will run Android 11 out of the box and will have a layer of Realme UI 2.0 on top. A 3C listing confirmed that the phone will support 65W fast charging. It is expected to pack a 5000 mah battery under the hood.

On the back, the phone is rumoured to sport a triple-camera setup. It will have a 64MP primary camera, coupled with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP tertiary sensor, which is likely a macro lens. For selfies, the phone will have a 16MP front camera sensor.

There is no word on the pricing details yet. That being said, since the device is an incremental upgrade over the original GT Neo, which can expect the pricing to be similar. The base variant of the GT Neo 2 with 6GB RAM was launched in China for CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 20,500). We can expect the GT Neo 2 to start at around the same price tag.
