Realme launched the GT Neo 3 earlier this year in India and other markets. The key features of the GT Neo 3 include a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, Dimensity 8100 and support for up to 150W fast charging. The company is already working on the successor to the GT Neo 3. It is likely to skip a generation as the number 4 is considered unlucky in China. The company will instead launch the phone as the Realme GT Neo 5. The GT Neo 5 series will again focus on offering bleeding edge fast charging technology, according to some leaked details that have surfaced online.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station (via), the upcoming Realme GT Neo 5 series will include two premium smartphones. The tipster has also revealed the battery and fast charging details of the GT Neo 5 series. Let’s take a look at the key specifications and features of the Realme GT Neo 5 series known so far.

Realme GT Neo 5 Series Will Include Two New Models

The Realme GT Neo 5 series is said to include two models with different batteries and fast charging tech. The exact details of the moniker are unknown. However, tipster Digital Chat Staton revealed that the phones will feature dual-cell batteries. One of the variants will feature a battery with the model number BLP985. The dual-cell battery will have a combined capacity of 5000mAh. The variant that offers this battery capacity will support 150W fast charging technology. In comparison, the Realme GT Neo 3 150W features a 4500mAh battery.

There will be another variant of the G Neo 5 series, which will offer a total combined battery capacity of 4600mAh. The device will support 240W fast charging out of the box. It could be based on OPPO’s SuperVOOC charging tech, which was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022. At the time, the company claimed that its 240W charging tech will recharge a 4,500mAh battery to 100% in about 9 minutes.

In addition to the above details, the tipster also revealed that the upcoming GT Neo series smartphone from Realme will feature a Sony IMX890 sensor on the back. The main camera will support optical image stabilisation (OIS) as well. Realme could use the same 50MP primary camera sensor, which is rumoured to feature in some of the upcoming OPPO and OnePlus premium smartphones. The sensor is said to replace the Sony IMX766 main camera sensor found in a variety of OnePlus, OPPO and Realme smartphones.

Other details of the Realme GT Neo 5 series are unknown. The smartphone could debut in the first half of 2023. We are still a few months away from the launch.
