Realme had introduced its first-ever smartwatch - Realme Watch back in May 2020.

Realme forayed into the wearable segment with the Realme Band in Early 2020. Soon after, the company then released its first-ever smartwatch – Realme Watch. The company recently expanded its smartwatch portfolio and entered into the premium smartwatch segment with Realme Watch S, and Realme Watch S Pro in the Indian market. It looks like Realme has more smartwatches lined up for launch. People looked into the source codes of a recent version of the Realme Link app, the companion app for Realme AIoT products, and found references of Realme Watch 2, and Realme Watch 2 Pro.

Realme Watch 2 should be a successor to the Realme Watch which was released back in May 2020. To recall, Realme Watch features a 1.4-inch color LCD display inside a squircle frame with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The Realme Watch features a heart rate sensor, a blood-oxygen monitor (SpO2) sensor, and can track steps.

The OG Realme Watch supports 14 sports modes including Outdoor Run, Walk, Indoor Run, Outdoor Cycle, Football, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, and more. It supports Music Control, Camera Control, Weather Forecast, and Automatic Motion Recognition (Running/Walking) along with Call, Message, and Alarm Reminder. The Realme Watch carries an IP68 rating which makes it water and dust-resistant.

We can expect the Realme Watch 2 to carry a similar squircle shape LED display. While, the Pro variant might get an AMOLED display with a similar design. We can expect Realme Watch 2 series smartwatches to run the company’s proprietary FreeRT OS-based software. One of the biggest disadvantages with such a custom OS is the lack of support to reply to notifications. But on the other side, this enables OEMs to provide much better battery life on smartwatches.

Unfortunately, nothing is known about the Realme Watch 2 in terms of specifications. Rest assured, if and whenever these watches appear on any certification website, or leaks around these surface on the web, we will update our readers. What are your expectations from the upcoming Realme Watch 2 series smartwatches? Do let us know in the comments below.
