Realme has launched the GT Neo 2 in India. The new Realme smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC under the hood and a 120Hz E4 AMOLED display made by Samsung. The phone also runs Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box. At the event, Realme has announced its next Android skin update as well. The Realme UI 3.0 will roll out to eligible devices later this year. Realme claims that the new update based on Android 12 continues “the product concept of Seamless Fun, with upgrades in design, fluidity, personalisation, privacy, and functionality. Realme UI 3.0 features 

Realme has announced Realme UI 3.0 at the GT Neo 2 launch event. The new Android skin for Realme smartphones comes with multiple new features. 

Fluid Space Design

Design-wise, not a lot has changed. The new Realme 3.0 update has a Fluid Space Design, where the layout is more organised and feels more fluid. The icons have a 3D design with an outline that adds weight. Realme stated that it has used a semitransparent method is used to give it a younger feel. The entire icon design becomes more vibrant and three-dimensional once these elements are adjusted. In comparison to UI 2.0, a wider range of colours is added to fit the diverse personalities of young people. The title size, text contrast, etc., have also been enhanced to offer an enhanced visual experience.


Realme claims that the new 3.0 update offers more personalisation options. Icons, backgrounds, fonts, and other elements may all be customised as per the user’s preference. The new update comes with global theme colour customisation, which is more in line with Android 12’s Material You design. Users can just select any of their favourite hues as the theme colour.

For Always-On Display (AOD), users can upload a photo in case they wish to. The update also supports new emojis and new dynamic wallpapers for select devices.

AI smooth engine 

The new AI Smooth Engine has been tweaked to offer more smoothness while reducing power consumption. The total rate of memory usage has been enhanced, memory fragmentation has been minimised. Realme also claims that memory usage has been decreased by 30 per cent without compromising on the overall app performance.


Realme is offering users more control with the new update. Users can use the subtitle stitching feature that allows them to share their favourite pictures or videos privately. In addition, more limitations to app permissions are also added in Realme UI 3.0.

List of devices eligible to get the Realme UI 3.0 update

Realme has announced that the first batch of eligible devices to get the Realme UI 3.0 update will be the Realme GT 5G. The flagship smartphone will get the update in October itself. Realme X7 Max, Realme GT Master Edition, Realme 8 Pro and Realme GT Neo 2 will get the new update in December 2021.

In Q1 of 2022, Realme X50 Pro 5G, Realme 7 Pro, Realme X7 Pro, Realme 8 4G, Realme Narzo 30, Realme C25, Realme C25s, Realme Narzo 50A and Realme 8i will get the new update.

Lastly, Realme X7, Realme X3, Realme X3 SuperZoom, Realme 8 5G, Realme 8s, Realme 7 5G, Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G, Realme Narzo 30 5G will get the Realme UI 3.0 update in Q2 2022.
