BBK Electronics-owned smartphone brands seem to be merging when you look at Oppo and OnePlus, but it’s a different story for others. Vivo and iQOO are now distinct brands catering to different kinds of consumers. Realme is out of Oppo’s influence, and right now, it’s the sixth-largest smartphone maker in the world. Realme now has plans to announce Realme UI 3. At the Realme Gt Neo 2 launch event, the company revealed this.

Realme UI 3.0 will be based on the latest Android 12. The newly launched Realme GT Neo 2 still runs Realme Ui 2.0 out of the box, based on Android 11. Just like Color OS and Oxygen OS now share design elements, it is expected that Realme UI 3.0 will also be close to ColorOS 12. Realme UI 3.0 will come with a refreshed look and an array of privacy-focused features.

A while ago, it was revealed by XDA Developers that Android 12’s Material You theming system may go open source in future, allowing device makers to integrate it into their own custom skin. So, we’re not really expecting that kind of feature in Realme UI 3.0. For now, we can expect Realme Ui 3.0 to bring FlexDrop, Smart Sidebar 2.0, smoother and fluid animations and a refreshed look of icons, menus and some changes in layouts across the different sections of the software.

Realme UI is not as distinct as OxyegenOS, which is now on its way to fuse into ColorOS. But, as Realme becomes the sixth-largest smartphone brand, the company may like to retain a separate identity rather than being a spin-around brand of Oppo. Realme users owning the following phones should get the Realme UI 3.0 update.
