Yesterday, Realme’s CMO, Xu Qi Chase, confirmed that the brand is soon going to launch the X50 Pro 5G smartphone, by posting a screenshot of the handset’s ‘About Phone’ section on Weibo. And today, Chase has revealed it on the Chinese social media platform that the smartphone will make its debut on February 24 at the MWC 2020 event in Barcelona.
The Realme X50 Pro 5G is expected to be an upper mid-range smartphone with high-end specifications. From the screenshot shared by Chase, we know that that X50 Pro 5G will feature a punch-hole display with Full HD+ resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage with a microSD card slot, Android 10 OS with Realme UI, and dual-SIM support with 5G connectivity. The screenshot also reveals that the smartphone’s model number will be RMX2071.
What about its other specifications such as the display type, rear, and front camera setup, battery capacity, and charging speed? While the brand has revealed those details, recent leaks and rumors suggest that the display will be an AMOLED unit featuring 120Hz refresh rate, there will be a quad-camera setup at the rear with 64MP primary camera, an ultrawide sensor, a telephoto camera, and a macro lens. In terms of battery, it is said to feature a 4500mAh battery with 50W fast charging.
Will the Realme X50 Pro 5G come to India? Fortunately, yes. The brand’s CEO, Madhav Sheth, has teased the X50 Pro 5G on Twitter, confirming that the handset is coming to the Indian market. However, Madhav has revealed a launch date of the smartphone for the country. That being said, expect it to launch in India soon after Realme reveals the smartphone at the MWC 2020 event. Expect the Realme X50 Pro 5G to launch in the Indian market with between INR 30,000 and INR 40,000.
