If you have been a keen follower of the Chinese smartphone market, chances are high that you have heard of an upcoming handset called the Realme X50 Youth Edition. This handset had made its official appearance on the Chinese certification portal 3C a few days ago, and most leaksters had arrived at a consensus that this device is a trimmed down variant of the Realme X50. Previous leaks had shed light on some of the key specifications of this handset, including the expected processor, display size and battery capacity. However, things remained fuzzy as far as the camera specifications of the device were concerned.
Today, thanks to a post by Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station, we have more details about the camera setup on the Realme X50 Youth Edition. In the same post, he has also mentioned a possibility about Realme’s archrival Xiaomi working in a new variant of the Redmi K30. While he stopped short of divulging any information, chances are that we are looking at a trimmed down variant of the K30.
Anyway, let us now turn our attention back to the Realme X50 Youth Edition.
As per the aforementioned Weibo post, the Realme X50 Youth Edition will get a quad-camera setup at the rear with some changes from its more expensive sibling. In place of the 64MP + 12MP +8MP +2MP setup we saw on the X50, the cheaper Youth Edition variant will feature a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP setup at the rear. The Youth Edition, while retaining the dual front-facing cameras, gets major changes as far as the resolution is concerned. Per the post, the X50 Youth Edition will get a 16MP + 2MP camera setup at the front housed inside a punch hole.
As for the rest of the specifications, previous rumors have revealed that the Realme X50 Youth Edition is likely to come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chip. The phone shall be sold in multiple RAM and storage variants with a 128GB + 8GB variant expected to be the entry-level option. We also know that the X50 Youth Edition supports 30W fast charging and comes with 5G support as well. The phone will run an Android 10 based version of Realme UI at launch.
