The world’s first smartphone to feature a 64MP camera (by a mere technicality), the Realme XT finally has an official launch date. Realme has announced that the launch event for the smartphone shall be conducted at 12:30 PM on September 13. This event is going to be open to the media as well as fans who register in time for the limited seats being offered by the brand. With its premium mid-range specifications, and based on how much its predecessor costs, we expect the Realme XT to be priced well under the INR 20,000 price point.
Realme XT Specifications, Features
The Realme XT is indeed an upgrade in most parts when compared to the Realme X, but also downgrades some features along the way. The XT is the first phone from the brand to offer Gorilla Glass on the back. And while the display still makes use of a Super AMOLED panel with a 6.4-inch size and a Full HD+ resolution, the notch has returned in place of the pop-up mechanism that was found on its predecessor. Thankfully, we still get an in-screen fingerprint scanner on the phone.

Performance also sees an upgrade with the move to a Snapdragon 712 SoC on the Realme XT. Furthermore, we now have storage options to choose from, where we have 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM model paired with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. All three of storage variants shall offer triple card trays with a dedicated slot for microSD cards. We expect battery life to be slightly better on the XT as its predecessor thanks to its 4000mAh cell that charges over USB Type-C and gets 20 W VOOC 3.0 fast charge support. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and 3.5mm audio.
As mentioned earlier, this will be the first phone to arrive in the hands of the Indian customers with high-resolution 64MP camera. The phone maker is making use of a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor that has an aperture of f/1.8. There are a total of four camera sensors on the back. Other than the aforementioned 64MP sensor, we have an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP dedicated macro sensor, and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. For selfies, a 16Mp camera has been provided at the front. Video recording via the rear camera can go as high as 4K resolution with 30fps.
There should be three color options for the Realme XT – Blue, White, and Green. We received the Blue variant for testing, and you can check out the unboxing of the phone below.
