Realme XT with 64MP Quad-camera Smartphone Announced During Realme 5 Series Launch Event

As most of you might know, Realme launched two new smartphones in India today at an event in Delhi – the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro. However, that wasn’t all. At the launch event, the brand surprised everyone by teasing its upcoming smartphone – the Realme XT.

Realme XT Will Have A 64MP Quad-Camera Setup

Realme revealed that the Realme XT will feature a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 64MP primary camera. Currently, the only 64MP camera sensor available for a smartphone is Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1, which launched recently. So, the Realme XT might feature the very sensor. Anyway, there is no information about the remaining three cameras in the quad-camera setup. However, in my opinion, the other three cameras might be similar to that of the Realme 5 Pro — an 8MP ultrawide unit, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Realme XT Will Most Likely Feature an AMOLED Display

The brand also revealed a silhouette of the Realme XT, showing off its quad-camera setup, and a body design similar to that of the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro. One interesting thing we discovered from the silhouette is that the Realme XT doesn’t have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. This indicates that the fingerprint scanner will be embedded in the display. As most of you might know, an in-display fingerprint scanner can currently be packed in only AMOLED displays, and therefore, it is most likely that the Realme XT will feature an AMOLED display.

Realme XT Might Launch in September-October

While teasing the Realme XT, the brand played “Wale Me Up When September Ends” song in the background, suggesting that the Realme XT will most likely launch in September or October. That’s the time when India celebrates Diwali. And it is very much possible that the brand might launch the Realme XT around the festive time. If no one else launches a 64MP camera smartphone by then (which is most likely possible), the Realme XT will be the first 64MP camera smartphone in the world.

Realme XT Might Be Costlier Than Realme X

Realme hasn’t revealed anything regarding the price of the Realme XT. When you consider that the Realme 5 Pro costs about the same as the Realme X, it is only likely that he Realme XT will be costlier than Realme X as the former packs better camera hardware.
