Redmi has quietly launched a new budget smartphone under its number series. The company has launched the Redmi 10 2022 in global markets. The phone shares most of the specs with the Redmi 10 launched in August 2021. It sports a polycarbonate shell and comes in multiple colour options. The budget smartphone has 4G VoLTE network support. It comes with a high refresh rate display and a quad-camera setup as well. The device could make its way to India with a rebadged name. Redmi 10 2022 Launched
Redmi 10 2022 has been launched in two storage options. The base variant has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a 4GB + 128GB variant as well. However, the pricing details are currently under wraps. The phone comes in three colours – Pebble White, Carbon Grey, and Sea Blue.
Specifications and Features
The Redmi 10 budget smartphone features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. It has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. The device comes with a 90Hz refresh rate display as well as a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
On the back, there is a quad-camera setup. The phone has a 50MP main camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera setup also features an 8MP ultrawide camera sensor along with two 2MP sensors for depth sensing and macro photography.
For selfies and video calls, there is an 8MP front camera sensor. The phone also packs a beefy 5000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, 9W reverse charging. Xiaomi will bundle a 22.5W fast charger in the box. The phone weighs 181 grams and measures 161.95 x 75.53 x 8.92mm.
It draws power from a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, which supports 4G VoLTE and not 5G. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports AI face unlock. It runs Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 out of the box.
