The Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime was already teased to launch, and now, Xiaomi India managing director, Manu Kumar Jain has taken to Twitter to post the launch event countdown link for the same. In a tweet written largely in prime number cipher, Jain confirmed that the launch event is slated for 12PM on Friday, September 3. The seemingly cryptic tweets have all but confirmed the launch of the Redmi 10 Prime in India, which now looks set to join one of the most popular smartphone lineups in India.

The Redmi 10 Prime was previously also tipped to launch in India. The device is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 10 that Xiaomi has launched already in global markets. As a result, we have a fair idea in terms of the general specifications that we expect to see on this phone. If this turns out to be true, the Redmi 10 Prime should feature a 6.5-inch LCD display with a centrally placed drill hole slot for the front camera, and 90Hz refresh rate with adaptive screen refresh. The latter should help the phone automatically switch between 45Hz, 60Hz and 90Hz, therefore saving battery power and also offering the fluid usage experience that most users have become used to.

Other tipped features include the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, along with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The event page of the upcoming smartphone in India has confirmed the central drill hole camera alignment, as well as dual mic for stereo sound recording and stereo speakers for a cinematic entertainment experience. Other specifications include a 50MP quad rear camera setup, which should include an 8MP ultrawide unit as well. The front camera is tipped to be an 8MP unit.

The Redmi 10 Prime should feature dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 in terms of wireless connectivity, along with USB-C and a 3.5mm audio port serving as physical connectivity devices as well. The phone should also feature a side-mounted physical fingerprint sensor, along with a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging and 9W reverse charging as well. All of these will be confirmed in less than two weeks, when Xiaomi launches the device in India.
