Xiaomi might soon launch a budget 5G smartphone in the Indian market. Tipster Mukul Sharma claims that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 11 Prime 5G in the country. Sharma says that the launch could happen as early as next week. If true, this could be the brand’s cheapest device with 5G connectivity in the country to date.

The Redmi 11 Prime 5G moniker was spotted for the first time by famous Xiaomi tipster Kacper Skrzypek about a month ago. Also, earlier this month, a report revealed that the Redmi 11 Prime is codenamed light and has model number 22041219I. Let us take a closer look at what we know about the Redmi 11 Prime so far.

There are speculations that the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 11 Prime will be rebadged Redmi 10 5G which was launched back in March in global markets. The same handset is also available in China as the Redmi Note 11E. It is also available in India but under the POCO branding.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G Could be Cheapest 5G-enabled Redmi in India

Xiaomi has launched a few 5G-enabled 5G devices in the country including Redmi Note 10T 5G, Redmi Note 11T 5G, and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. However, all these devices belong to the Note series and were priced above Rs 15,000 in the country. Since, the upcoming Redmi 11 Prime is a number series smartphone, we can expect to be cheaper compared to other 5G smartphones from the brand.

If the Redmi 11 Prime turns out to be a Redmi Note 11E rebrand, it will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. In that case, we would see another Redmi smartphone with 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The smartphone might offer a 50MP dual-camera setup and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. We can also expect Redmi 11 Prime 5G to come equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and 18W fast charging support.
