Xiaomi has confirmed to host a new launch event in India on March 30. The company has confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 12 4G as its new Note series phone in India at the event. Alongside, there will be the new Redmi 12C, will be another budget smartphone offering in India. The Redmi 12C will launch as a successor to the 10C, which was launched last year. The 12C is already available in several markets outside India.

Redmi 12C India Launch: What You Must Know
The Redmi 12C is expected to be a budget smartphone offering in India. The phone is set to launch alongside the Note 12 4G in India on March 30. Xiaomi’s event microsite confirms that the 12C India variant will be similar to the one available globally. The phone, claimed to be “Big on Speed and Style” has a striped rear panel design made of polycarbonate. It focuses on offering a well-rounded user experience, including gaming, multimedia, camera and battery life, according to the teasers.
The 12C will launch in India with four colour options — Blue, Black, Purple and Green. There will be up to 6GB of RAM and 5GB of Extended RAM support. We can expect Xiaomi to launch the phone with 4GB and 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB storage.
The rest of the specs are available on the web. The phone sports a tall 6.7-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1650×720 pixels. The phone has a tiny waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera. There is a thick chin bezel below the display. The phone also offers a standard 60Hz refresh rate panel. Other display features include a 20.6:9 aspect ratio, 500nits brightness, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, etc.
On the back, the 12C has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera and a QVGA lens for depth mapping. There is a 5MP front camera for selfies. The phone can record 1080p videos up to 30 fps.
Under the hood, the 12C has a beefy 5000mAh battery. It supports 10W charging via a micro-USB port. There is a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, which is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash storage. There is support for storage expansion up to 512GB via a microSD card. The phone weighs about 192 grams and measures 168.76 x 76.41 x 8.7mm.
The 12C was launched in China at a starting price of CNY 699 (roughly Rs 8,400). In Indonesia, the phone is available at a starting price of IDR 1,399,000 (roughly Rs 7,600).
