Xiaomi has teased the launch of a new variant of the Redmi 12C. The company took to Twitter to confirm the launch of a new Redmi 12C, which will have more RAM and storage under the hood. Currently, the 12C is available in India with two storage options. The base model offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There is also a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage. Therefore, it is likely that Xiaomi will launch a 4GB + 128GB storage variant of the phone or an 8GB + 256GB variant, which is not as common in this segment.
We suspect the 128GB storage option with 4GB of RAM will likely launch in India in the coming days. That way, the 4GB + 128GB variant might sit between the two existing storage options in India. We suspect the 4GB + 128GB storage option will launch in India and sit between the existing 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB storage options.
Xiaomi launched the 4GB + 64GB variant of the Redmi 12C for Rs 8,999. The 6GB + 128GB variant is available for Rs 10,999. If the 4GB + 128GB variant does launch in India, it will likely be available for Rs 9,999.
The device is currently available for purchase in India in four colour options — Lavender Purple, Matte Black, Mint Green and Royal Blue. The upcoming storage option will likely be available in all four colour options soon.
