Redmi 12C Global Launch Date, Design Renders, Price and Specifications Leaked

Redmi might soon launch a new smartphone globally. The Redmi 12C is expected to arrive later this month in various markets. The 12C is also tipped to launch in India in the form of the POCO C55, which is confirmed to launch in India on February 21. Ahead of the official launch, the Redmi 12C price and some other details have leaked online.

Tipster Paras Guglani has uploaded the design renders, colour options, RAM and storage variants of the upcoming Redmi smartphone. In a separate report, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore revealed the price of the 12C. Let’s take a look at all the key specifications, features and other details of the Redmi 12C known so far.


Redmi 12C Global Price and Specifications Leaked

The Redmi 12C will be one of the most affordable smartphones from the company. The phone is expected to launch in two colour options. The base model will have 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There will also be a 4GB RAM option with 128GB of storage.

Tipster Sudhanshu claims that the phone’s 3GB RAM variant will launch in Europe for EUR 170 (roughly Rs 15,000). The 4GB RAM variant would cost EUR 200 (roughly Rs 17,600). These prices may vary based on VAT and other taxes in each country.

The phone is said to launch in Ocean Blue, Mint Green, and Graphite Grey. The images uploaded by Guglani reveal the design of the budget smartphone from Redmi. The images confirm that the phone has the same design as the POCO C55 and the Chinese version of the 12C.

There is a dual-camera setup and an LED flash on the back. Inside the extended camera module is the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone has a waterdrop notch at the top of the display. While the side and top bezels are fairly thin, the chin is considerably thick.

In addition o this, the global version of the 12C will have a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. It will feature LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. The device will also support virtual RAM. In terms of software, the upcoming Redmi smartphone will boot on the old Android 12 update. It will have a layer of MIUI 13 on top. The global version of the 12C is said to get two major Android updates and three years of security patches.

On the back, the phone will have a 50MP primary camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The device also has a depth sensor. For selfies, the phone has a 5MP front camera sensor. Both the front and rear camera sensors will have support for 1080p video recording at 30fps. The device will pack a 5000mAh battery and support 10W charging out of the box. There will be a micro-USB port instead of the widely accepted USB Type-C port.

The device will also have a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM, and dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz). Bluetooth 5.1, FM radio, etc. The phone will measure 168.76 x 76.41 x 8.77 mm and is said to weigh about 192 grams.
