Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of a new Redmi smartphone. The company is expected to expand its affordable C-series lineup with the launch of the Redmi 12C globally. The device is expected to launch on February 26 in various markets. The phone is tipped to launch in India as the Poco C55. Ahead of the official launch, the specifications of the global variant of the 12C have leaked online. A new leak has revealed the complete specs of the phone, right from its display size to its camera system.

Redmi 12C Global Launch: What You Need to Know
Xiaomi will launch a new budget smartphone in the form of the Redmi 12C globally on February 26. The phone will launch in four colour options globally, according to the leaked poster. These will be green, pink, black and blue. The poster also confirms some other details of the phone.
The 12C global variant will be similar to the Chinese variant. The phone will have a fairly big camera module design, which will not only house the dual-camera setup and an LED flash but also the rear fingerprint scanner. There is the Redmi branding next to the camera sensors.
The phone has a plastic build, with the rear panel sporting diagonal stripes. The 12C is claimed to offer a slip-resistant and minimalist design.
Xiaomi’s upcoming budget Redmi smartphone will have a 50MP dual-camera setup with a depth sensor and an LED flash. For selfies, there will be a 5MP front camera inside the waterdrop notch for selfies and video calls.
The leaked image further confirms that the global variant of the 12C will have a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC under the hood. It will come with a 5000mAh battery inside. The display is said to be 6.71-inch tall. The bezels around the display, except for the chin, are fairly thin.
The Chinese variant’s display has a 20.6:9 aspect ratio and 500 nits of peak brightness. It comes with an HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate screen.
In addition to this, the phone will have support for a microSD card up to 512GB. There will be LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash memory. The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a single speaker at the bottom. There is a USB Type-C port with 10W charging support. The 12C weighs about 192 grams and measures 168.76 x 76.41 x 8.7mm. It is likely to boot Android 12 out of the box. The global variant will have a layer of MIUI 13 on top.
As per a leaked report, the 12C will launch globally in two storage options. The base variant will have 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is said to be priced at EUR 170 (roughly Rs 15,000). There will be a 4GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage, which is said to be priced at EUR 200 (roughly Rs 17,600).
