Redmi 7 Reportedly Launching in India This Month; Redmi Y3, Redmi 7A Phones Could Arrive Later

Xiaomi recently brought three new Redmi smartphones to India – Redmi Note 7 (review), Redmi Note 7 Pro, and the Redmi Go. All the three phones have been a hit in the Indian smartphone market, and now the company seems to be gearing up for launching more phones. A tip from the serial leakster, Ishan Agarwal, suggest that Xiaomi could announce three more phones in India in the coming months.

Three New Redmi Phones Coming To India Including Redmi 7, Redmi 7A, and Redmi Y3

Although the tip does not reveal a confirmed launch timeline for the phones, it does disclose the model number of the Redmi 7A – C3F. The tweet by Ishan notes, “As you all would expect, Xiaomi is soon launching the Redmi 7 in India. It will also be launching the Redmi Y3 after that, probably next month or so. And that’s not all, I believe they are preparing another budget smartphone with model code C3F which is probably Redmi 7A.” Well, the Redmi 7 has already gone official in China, and the Redmi 7A and Redmi Y3 are in works.

As for Redmi 7, the phone was launched at CNY 699 (roughly INR 7,000) in China. We can expect Xiaomi to launch the phone around the same price in India. It will also be in sync with the Redmi 6 that currently retails at INR 6,999 in India. The Redmi 7 is a successor to the Redmi 6 (review) with upgraded specs and design. The Redmi 7 is more in line with the latest Redmi Note 7 lineup. It has lesser bezels than its predecessor and also has a notch on top of the display.

The Redmi 7 comes with a 6.26-inch HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. A 4,000mAh battery backs the phone and is claimed to deliver up to hours of backup on a single charge. Xiaomi bundles it with a 10W charger. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset powers the Redmi 7. It has a 12MP+2MP dual camera setup on the rear and an 8MP front camera. The phone ships with Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10.

Concerning the other two upcoming phones, we recently spotted the Redmi Y3 on Wi-Fi Alliance listing. The phone has got the Wi-Fi certification for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It comes with M1810F6G model number and runs Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10. The Redmi Y3 is expected to be an upgrade over the Redmi Y2. We can expect Xiaomi to integrate the phone with better camera and hardware. The details about the Redmi 7A are still scarce, we have to wait until the phone gains spotlight.
