It is widely believed that Xiaomi will release the Redmi 7A on the same day it launches the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro in India. Even if that doesn’t happen, it is likely the smartphone will launch sometime in the first half of July.
Redmi 7A Expected Price in India
The Redmi 7A already launched in China about a month ago and went on sale earlier this month. Over there the phone costs CNY 549 (approx. INR 5,500) for the base variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. An upgrade to 32GB of storage costs CNY 599 (approx. INR 6,000).

Just like its predecessors, the Redmi 7A is an entry-grade smartphone that features a 5.45-inch LCD screen with an HD resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Despite its affordable nature, the phone gets a P2i splash resistance coating. Under the hood, the Redmi 7A runs a Snapdragon 439 chipset that is paired with 2GB of RAM. This chipset from Snapdragon offers an octa-core CPU that clocks as high as 2.0 GHz. Further storage expansion is indeed possible up to 256GB with a microSD card. Out of the box, the phone runs Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10.
When it comes to imaging, the Redmi 7A houses a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture that is accompanied by an LED flash. The front of the device houses a 5MP selfie camera. Both cameras provide all the standard shooting features such as HDR, Ai Portrait, AI smart beauty, Face Recognition, AI Face Unlock, and more. Connectivity options on the Redmi 7A are comprised of Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM Radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The battery on this handset measures in at 4000mAh, and supports 10W charging over a microUSB 2.0 port. There are two color options to choose from – Matte Black, and Morning Blue.
