Redmi 8A Dual Android 10-based MIUI 11 Update Rolling Out in India

The Redmi 8A Dual smartphone has started receiving Android 10-based MIUI 11 update in India. This could be the final roadblock before MIUI 12 hits the device.


The Redmi 8A Dual smartphone has been on the market for quite a while now. The brand launched the device back in February and the Redmi 8A Dual has been the number one selling device in the country as per reports. Finally, users of the Redmi 8A Dual will get to enjoy the Android 10-based MIUI 11 update in India, as the company has begun rolling out the update officially, over the air. MIUI 11 is not the latest skin by Xiaomi and the Redmi 8A Dual is eligible to receive the MIUI 12 update as well, but the company decided to update the device first to Android 10 and the MIUI 12 update might follow.

Redmi 8A Dual receives Android 10/MIUI 11 update in India

The latest update for the Redmi 8A Dual comes with the build number V11.0.1.0.QCQINXM and brings about the latest Android 10 OS to the device. The build is currently being rolled out to select people and a wider rollout might soon follow. If you own a Redmi 8A Dual smartphone, chances are that you might soon be receiving the update on your device, so keep an eye on the same by tapping the settings menu and checking for the latest update.

As far as the specifications of the device go, the Redmi 8A Dual features a 6.22-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch at the top. The waterdrop notch sports an 8MP front camera. Moving around the rear of the device, the Redmi 8A Dual fashions a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 13MP primary lens and a 2MP secondary lens.

Powering the Redmi 8A Dual is an  octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, which is paired with up to 3GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. If 64GB of storage does not appear to be enough, the same can be expanded with the help of an external SD card (the device has a dedicated microSD card slot).
