Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi 8A Dual smartphone in India on February 11, 2020. The Redmi 8A Dual is an incremental upgrade over its predecessor, the Redmi 8A, and it offers a dual rear camera setup instead of the single rear camera found on the latter. The device is going on its first sale today via Amazon and Xiaomi’s Mi.com e-commerce platform. In case you are interested in buying the Redmi 8A Dual smartphone, you can do so today. Redmi 8A Dual: Price in India

Xiaomi has announced two memory variants of the Redmi 8A Dual in India – 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Both the memory variants are available in three paint jobs – Midnight Grey, Sky White, and Sea Blue. The former will cost you Rs 6,499, while the latter will fetch you Rs 500 more and is priced at Rs 6,999. The device will go on sale today (February 18) through Amazon.in and Mi.com. The company has not offered any launch discounts on the Redmi 8A Dual, which does not come as a surprise given that it is a budget-oriented handset anyway.

Redmi 8A Dual: Specifications and Features

The Redmi 8A Dual boasts of a 6.22-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. For optics, the Redmi 8A Dual sports a dual rear camera setup – a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and Phase Detection Autofocus and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. At its heart, the Redmi 8A Dual makes room for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, which is backed up with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The storage can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card.

For software, the Redmi 8A Dual utilizes Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. As far as the battery is concerned, the Redmi 8A Dual features a massive 5,000mAh battery, which has support for up to 18W of fast charging. It is worth noting that the device does not ship with an 18W fast charger in the box. The Redmi 8A also supports reverse charging, and in case you have a device that is low on juice, you can borrow some of it from the Redmi 8A Dual’s 5,000mAh cell. Connectivity options include a Dual-SIM, Dual-4G, Dual-VoLTE HD calling, VoWiFi, Single-band Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack.
