After launching its Redmi 9 Prime smartphone a little while ago, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has finally launched its budget-friendly Redmi 9 smartphone in India. The Redmi 9 has a MediaTek Helio G35 processor, a 6.53-inch display, and a 13MP primary lens. Redmi 9: Price in India
The Redmi 9 smartphone comes in two memory variants in India – one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is priced at INR 8,999 and one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, which is priced at INR 9,999. The device will be available via Amazon India and mi.com starting August 31, 2020 and interested buyers will get three colours to choose from – Sky Blue, Carbon Black and Sporty Orange.
Redmi 9: Specifications and features
The Redmi 9 has a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 1,600 x 720 pixels resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display of the device makes room for a waterdrop notch, which houses a 5MP selfie snapper. At the back, the Redmi 9 has a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Furthermore, the device has a rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the Redmi 9 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB internal storage, which can be expanded further by up to 512GB with the help of an external SD card. Coming to the software, the Redmi 9 ships with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box and the latest MIUI 12 skin out of the box. In the battery department, the Redmi 9 sports a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. Connectivity options of the Redmi 9 include Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, micro USB charging port.
