Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has finally unveiled its Redmi 9 Prime smartphone in India. The Redmi 9 Prime is an entry-level/budget smartphone and has features like a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, a large 5,020mAh battery, and a quadruple rear camera setup. Redmi 9 Prime: Price in India

The Redmi 9 Prime is launched in two memory variants in the country – one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is priced at INR 9,999 and one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is priced at INR 11,999.

Redmi 9 Prime: Specifications and features

Starting with the display of the device, the Redmi 9 Prime features a 6.57-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch display. The waterdrop notch makes room for an 8MP selfie snapper. At the back, the Redmi 9 Prime comes with a quadruple rear camera setup, which makes room for a 13MP AI primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 118-degree field of view, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro lens.

Under the hood, the Redmi 9 Prime is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor, which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage, which has scope for further expansion with the help of an external SD card. The device has a dedicated card slot, for those concerned. As far as the battery of the device is concerned, the Redmi 9 Prime features a large 5,020mAh battery, which has support for up to 18W fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port. The device, however, comes with a 10W charger in the box.

In terms of software, the Redmi 9 Prime runs on the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s in-house MIUI 11 skin baked on top of it. The device features a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR Blaster, and a wireless FM radio support.
